    ever thought about home brew?

Ever thought about brewing your own Beer?

we know that Chinese beer is not the best in the world (there are some I Like)

So why not get a home brew kit from home and start your own distillery

if you get it wrong the locals will just think it is fire crackers

    Cheers Big Ears wink

So is someone going to provide a list of stuff we need to get cooking? Can this be confused with a meth lab to the untrained eye?

Good idea, but Beijing now has so many micro breweries who can do it better. But would be fun to try.

Chinese beer is not that bad. Better than Bud Light, Coors light, Miller Light etc. I brewed beer for over twenty years and eventually I gave up. Too much mucking about cleaning and the materials got so expensive it just was not worth my time to brew 5 gallons of beer. I go to Costco and buy German, Mexican or British beers costs less and no problems.

By the way you do not need distillery for brewing beer Smile

We also did that in the student times but be ready that the best beer you will be able to prepare will probably taste a bit (actually a lot ...) worse than more or less any beer you can buy locally.

Nevertheless it will have certain touch of originality emphasized by the clear fact that it was made by you!

    danielreal:

I do not rule out that with a lot of passion and plenty of effort you can also do decent beer.

Nevertheless I never heard about anybody who would succeed to make at home better beer than that we drink normally in Czechia (also never really made any investigation though) - but may be it can be better than the local Chinese beers :).

But the main point for all people who did own beer was not that much superior taste but the self satisfaction which drinking their own beer brought to them - sometimes such feeling is more important than the beer quality as drinking should be about enjoyment with friends :)

I make my own Mead all the time here. Got tired of the low alcoholic beers or the import beers I have never heard of, and taobao sells all the ingredients and equipment. Even equipment for making beer.

I am planning to make my own cider. You can get everything you need on Taobao. You should go for it.
